Since July 1, the EU has applied a temporary €3 customs duty to low-value imports under €150, calculated by tariff category. Industry data now show a sharp drop. One estimate says Chinese low-value and e-commerce exports to the EU fell 65% year on year in August. Another dataset recorded a 40% decline in China’s e-commerce exports to Europe.
