It is now learning real factory work inside Hyundai Motor Group’s Georgia manufacturing campus. Boston Dynamics has opened its Robotics Metaplant Application Center, or RMAC, at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. Atlas is training first on logistics and parts sequencing — preparing automotive components and placing them in the exact order required for assembly. One distinction matters. Atlas has not yet been deployed as a regular production-line worker. This is a training and validation stage. Hyundai plans to begin deploying Atlas for parts sequencing in 2028, then expand into component assembly by 2030. Next year, the training center is also set to become roughly ten times larger.
