한진이 국내 최초로 자율주행 화물차를 이용한 유상운송을 시작했습니다.한진은 25톤 대형 자율주행 트럭이 실제 택배화물을 싣고 운행을 개시했다고 밝혔습니다. 운행 구간은 전북 군산항에서 한진 전주택배터미널을 거쳐 대전 메가허브까지 118km 구간이며, 주 3회 운행합니다. 안전을 위해 운전석에는 전문 안전요원이 탑승합니다.이번 운송은 산업통상자원부가 추진하는 ‘새만금 자율운송 상용차 실증지원인프라 조성 사업’의 일환으로 진행됐습니다. 한진은 (재)자동차융합기술원, LX공간정보연구원, 한국통합물류협회와 협력해 실증사업을 진행해 왔으며, 최근 국토교통부로부터 유상화물운송 허가를 취득했습니다.기존 자율주행 화물차 실증이 기술 검증 수준에 머물렀던 것과 달리, 이번 사례는 실제 화물을 운송하며 수익을 창출하는 국내 첫 상업 운송 사례라는 점에서 의미가 있습니다.한진은 이번 운영을 통해 자율주행이 보편화될 미래 물류 시장에 대비한 실전 운영 노하우를 선제적으로 확보할 계획입니다. 특히 터미널 입·출차, 하역장 진입 등 전 과정에 자율주행 관제 시스템을 적용해 스마트 물류 체계를 고도화해 나간다는 방침입니다. Hanjin has launched the first commercial paid transportation service using an autonomous truck in Korea.The company announced that a 25-ton autonomous truck has begun transporting actual parcel cargo. The route runs 118 km from Gunsan Port in North Jeolla Province to the Daejeon Mega Hub via the Jeonju Terminal, operating three times a week. A professional safety driver remains on board for safety.This operation is part of the “Saemangeum Autonomous Transport Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Support Infrastructure Project” led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Hanjin has been conducting demonstration projects in collaboration with the Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute (KIAT), LX Spatial Information Research Institute, and the Korea Integrated Logistics Association. It recently obtained a paid cargo transportation permit from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.Unlike previous autonomous truck demonstrations that remained at the technology verification stage, this case marks Korea’s first commercial operation where actual cargo is transported for profit.Hanjin plans to use this experience to secure practical operational know-how ahead of the future when autonomous driving becomes widespread in logistics.
