A cargo vessel has come under attack in the Red Sea, raising fresh concerns about maritime security in one of the world’s key shipping routes.According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), on July 5, a distress alert was received from a cargo ship located approximately 30 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. The vessel reported being attacked by unknown armed assailants using a small boat. Armed security personnel on board responded with gunfire, after which the attackers retreated toward a larger nearby vessel.No injuries or damage have been reported so far, and authorities are investigating the incident.
