전국민주노동조합총연맹이 CU를 운영하는 BGF리테일 본사 앞에서 긴급 기자회견을 열고 사측과 정부, 경찰의 책임을 강하게 비판했습니다. 민주노총은 21일 오후 서울 강남구 BGF리테일 본사 앞에서 기자회견을 열고, 전날 경남 진주 CU 물류센터 앞 집회 현장에서 발생한 사고로 화물연대 조합원 1명이 사망하고 2명이 부상한 사건에 대해 “자본 폭주와 교섭 회피가 부른 참사”라고 주장했습니다. 양경수 민주노총 위원장은 “직접 만나서 대화하고 교섭하자고 요구한 것이 죽어야 할 이유입니까”라며 “CU가 교섭을 회피하고 물량을 빼돌리며 손해배상으로 협박한 결과”라고 밝혔습니다. 민주노총은 BGF리테일에 즉각적인 사과와 원청 사용자성 인정, 교섭 재개를 요구하고, 경찰과 정부에 대해서도 철저한 진상 규명과 책임자 처벌, 하청 노동자의 교섭권 실질 보장을 촉구했습니다. 사고 이후 화물연대는 전국 조합원 총집결을 예고하며 총력 투쟁을 선언한 상황입니다. The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) held an emergency press conference in front of BGF Retail headquarters, strongly criticizing the company, the government, and the police. On April 21, KCTU condemned the death of a Cargo Truckers’ Solidarity union member who was struck and killed by a substitute delivery truck during a protest at the CU Jinju Logistics Center the previous day. KCTU Chairman Yang Kyung-soo stated, “Is demanding to meet directly and negotiate a reason to die?” and accused BGF Retail of avoiding negotiations, diverting cargo volumes, and threatening the union with damage claims. The confederation demanded an immediate apology from BGF Retail, recognition of its responsibility as the original contractor, and resumption of negotiations. It also called on the police and government for a thorough investigation, punishment of those responsible, and practical guarantees of bargaining rights for subcontracted workers.
