쿠팡이 지방 물류센터에 대한 대규모 투자와 AI 기술 도입으로 청년 일자리를 크게 늘리고 있습니다. 쿠팡은 올해 3월 기준 비서울 지역 물류센터에서 20대와 30대 청년 직원이 1만7000명을 넘어섰다고 밝혔습니다. 이는 지난해 9월보다 2000명 가까이 증가한 수치입니다. 특히 광주첨단물류센터는 청년 직원이 1000명을 넘었고, 대전·충청권 1160명, 경남·경북 1900명 등 지방 곳곳에서 청년 고용이 빠르게 늘고 있습니다. 일부 지방 물류센터에서는 전체 직원 중 20~30대 청년 비율이 80%를 넘는 곳도 다수 등장했습니다. 쿠팡은 3조 원 규모의 물류 인프라 투자와 함께 AI 자동화 설비 운영·유지보수 인력을 확대하면서 산업공학·운송장비 전공의 젊은 인재들을 적극 채용하고 있습니다. 많은 청년들이 높은 수도권 주거비 부담을 피해 고향이나 지방에서 쿠팡 물류센터에 입사해 안정적인 정규직 일자리와 커리어를 쌓고 있습니다. 쿠팡은 올해에도 지역 대학들과 산학협력을 강화하고 대규모 채용 박람회를 통해 지방 청년 일자리를 지속적으로 확대할 계획입니다. Coupang has significantly increased youth employment in its regional logistics centers through large-scale investment and AI technology adoption. As of March this year, the number of employees in their 20s and 30s at Coupang’s non-Seoul logistics centers has surpassed 17,000, an increase of nearly 2,000 from September last year. The Gwangju Advanced Logistics Center alone now employs over 1,000 young workers, while Chungcheong region has 1,160, and Gyeongsang region has 1,900. In many regional centers, young people in their 20s and 30s account for more than 80% of the workforce. Coupang is actively hiring young talent majoring in industrial engineering and transportation equipment by expanding AI automation facilities. Many young people are choosing to stay in their hometowns or regional areas instead of moving to the capital region due to high living costs, finding stable full-time jobs and building careers at Coupang.
