HMM은 새 비전으로 ‘Move Beyond Maritime(해운을 넘어)’를 선포했습니다. 이는 단순한 해운사를 넘어 종합 물류기업으로 성장하겠다는 의미입니다. 이를 실현하기 위한 전략으로는 인재, 혁신, 가치, 친환경을 핵심 축으로 한 ‘W.A.V.E’를 제시했습니다. 1976년 유조선 3척으로 출범한 HMM은 반세기 동안 LNG 운반선 도입, 초대형 컨테이너선 건조 등 괄목할 만한 성장을 이뤘습니다. 특히 2022년에는 역대 최대 영업이익을 기록하며 한국 대표 국적 선사로서 위상을 높였습니다. 최근에는 메탄올과 LNG 등 친환경 연료 추진선 확보와 빅데이터 기반 스마트 해운 전환도 적극 추진하고 있습니다. 최 대표는 “미래를 위한 변화와 혁신으로 글로벌 톱티어 선사를 향해 함께 노력하자”고 임직원들에게 당부했습니다.
